I was overwhelmed by the participation and response for my 5 Day Challenge that I held a couple of weeks ago. The focus for the first challenge was nutrition for weight loss where I shared with everyone inn the group a meal plan of 5 breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. More that 100 amazing ladies participated and shared photos of their meals and their experiences with the group. Here are some of my favourite photos. Everyone felt more energetic, cleansed with flatter tummies. That is because this diet was free of all processed carbohydrates, and mostly grain free.
The next challenge will be workouts for weight loss. I plan to hold this around October. Stay tuned!!!!
I am doing a lot of traveling and teaching at the moment. It is so great to be able to meet so many amazing people and share the knowledge about all things BJJ, health, nutrition and empowerment.

Taking time out throughout the day will make you overall much more productive.
It is really important to seek balance in your life. I have been stuck on the computer all day so I decided to spend my lunch breakout outside and connect with nature and do some stretching. If you are working a lot, taking time out a couple times a day just to get a quick breather and to reset your mind will make you so much more productive overall. There is nothing worse than the feeling of being brain deal all day when you have deadlines looming.
It was such an honour to be teaching alongside Hannette Staack at this awesome event.
Lately I have been teaching a seminar every week or so. It is so amazing to be able to travel to new places, see new things, meet new people all because of the sport I love. The other week I was honoured to be teaching a seminar in Texas for the Women's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation alongside multiple time World Champ Hannette Staack. The WBJJF is dedicated to promoting women in the sport with camps, tournaments and seminars geared to both women and girls. Thank you Kristine Felts for starting this organisation and making a difference to so many. Your efforts are hugely appreciated. I met amazing women who were seasoned athletes, or brand new beginners or mothers (one was a mother of 5 kids!) Everyone of these ladies was taking the time out for themselves to pursue what they love and that is what it is all about.
It is really important to find the balance in your fitness routines. After all your training sessions and after a hard workout you have to make the time to stretch. Training involves contracting your muscles repeatedly over time. So in order to maintain that balance you need to stretch which elongates your muscles. Without stretching, your muscles can tighten up and over time this can lead to muscle pain, joint pain and musclular and strength imbalances. So after your sessions, make the time for a stretch. Even a quick stretch for 5 mins will make a world of difference to how your body feels after the workout once you have cooled down.
